If you happened to be watching ITV's Love Your Weekend on Sunday you may have seen Alan Titchmarsh give me a name check! A few weeks back I was watching the programme with Tom Bradbury being interviewed on the sofa and found myself thinking 'ooooh that's a nice comfy looking sofa and those cushions look lovely too'. A second later I thought 'I could send in a cushion to the show as a gift for Alan'.
So after a couple of days building up the courage (and with a little bit of research on the web) I found the address for where they film the programme. I wrote a little card to Alan, packaged up my cushion and popped to the post office to send it on its way! A few days went by and then it dawned on me that perhaps the programme is actually filmed well in advance and they may not even be recording still, so my package may well arrive somewhere but not be seen! I decided to leave it to fate! If it arrived all well and good and if it didn't, then somebody somewhere will enjoy a free random cushion!
This weekend I popped the telly on as usual and enjoyed the first part of the programme and then thought, I really must make a cuppa and call my mum as time was marching on. About five minutes into the call one of my lovely watercolour ladies sent me a 'well done, just seen you mentioned on Alan Titchmarsh' message! Well you could have knocked me down with a feather (probably a pheasant one!). I quickly took a look at the telly and low and behold, there sat my cushion on the sofa with Alan as he interviewed his guest! I can't tell you how excited I was, it was a little bit surreal! My husband hit the record button on plus one and then we sat glued to the telly trying to catch another glimpse of my cushion!
Once the programme had finished we watched the plus one recording and I was absolutely chuffed to bits when I actually got a mention! If you didn't catch it ~ here's a clip!
